How Happiness Affects Health

Hello, Internet!

Robert Green Ingersoll once said, "Happiness is the only good. The time to be happy is now. The place to be happy is here. The way to be happy is to make others so." Today I will be writing about the ways that happiness can affect health and well being.

Happiness has been found to affect the health in many positive ways. Here are some ways that being happy can influence your well being.

  •    Happiness can reduce the risk of heart disease.

According to a study conducted by Dr. Laura Kubzansky, a professor of society, human development, and health, happiness can reduce the risk of chronic heart disease. In an experiment with 6,000 men and women aged 25-74 those who possessed emotional vitality were less prone to receive any type of chronic heart disease.

  • Happiness reduces stress
When a person is happy and smiling, it reduces stress. By reducing stress, it also reduces blood pressure, regulates blood sugar levels, and puts stress anxiety reactions to ease.

  • A happy person is well received by others
Individuals who are happy are more likely to have people accept them and socialize with. Having more social interactions, and are accepted more into society. With being accepted into society, it makes a person feel more emotionally stable and are twice as likely to say they are feeling good or in good health.

I hope these little facts helped you be positive! Keep smiling!

Carpe Diem,
